Goals of Advisory Board (AB) Chair


  • CEO confidentially shares the burden of asymmetric information with the AB Chair who helps him/her prioritize and focus on the right problems


  • AB Chair advises the CEO through regular calls and, when necessary, he convenes and manages the entire process of getting additional advice from the most competent and independent minds 


  • AB Chair coaches and follows through with EXECS who are accountable for implementing the solutions proposed by the AB and he liaises with BOD members when necessary


  • AB Chair takes over the management responsibility for existing Advisory Board members including performance management. It frees up precious CEO time and significantly improves AB productivity.

The Certified Chair™ Executive Program of The Advisory Board Center is a unique qualification designed to support the evaluation, implementation and chairing of advisory boards, executive committees, councils, panels or board-level meetings. There are 900 Certified Chairs worldwide (less than 50 in North America).
